Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

I answer all of my phone calls personally. Please call me at 407-921-4810 to schedule an appointment. If I’m unable to answer your call, please leave a message on my confidential voicemail with your name, contact information, and best times to reach you. I will return your call as soon as possible.

What can I expect from a psychological evaluation?

Psychological assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation of your child across a variety of domains including intellectual, academic, social, attention, memory, behavioral, and emotional. This usually includes an interview with parents about the child’s history and current functioning, observation of and interview with the child, and testing. Testing involves paper and pencil and hands-on activities, answering questions verbally or by pointing, and sometimes using a computer.
The evaluation process will consist of three different sessions which include the Diagnostic Interview, the Testing Session, and the Feedback/Results session. The Diagnostic Interview typically lasts from 1-2 hours. Testing sessions vary in length depending on the referral question and case complexity. Testing sessions can last from 2-4 hours. The Feedback/Results session typically lasts 1-hour. I will provide a comprehensive report that details areas of strengths and difficulties, including individualized recommendations. During the Feedback Session, I will review the results of the evaluation and discuss diagnosis (if applicable) and detailed recommendations. Please note a diagnosis is not guaranteed.

What are your fees/do you accept insurance?

Insurance companies often do not authorize payment for psychological testing and/or limit reimbursement for this type of evaluation. My practice does not accept insurance and I would be considered an out-of-network provider. Should clients wish to file for reimbursement, a written bill will be provided with all the information necessary to submit claims to the insurance company.

The fee for the Diagnostic Interview is $250.00. Testing sessions vary in length depending on the referral question and case complexity. Testing sessions can last from 2-4 hours. The fee for the testing session is $125.00 per hour. The next phase of the evaluation includes scoring all test data, interpreting test results, synthesizing all information and responses provided to conceptualize the client’s problems and formulate a diagnosis (or diagnoses) as well as determine the client’s level of functioning/impairment. A comprehensive report will be written including detailed recommendations to assist the client. The fee for this work is $125.00 per hour which typically takes about 4-6 hours but could take longer depending on the complexity of the case. The Feedback/Results session typically lasts 1-hour and the fee is $125.00. During this session, I will review the results of the evaluation and discuss the recommendations. Further, I am always available to you for consultation regarding recommendations provided in the report.

What is your cancellation policy?
A cancellation fee of $150.00 will be billed to you for a cancellation that occurs within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. This time is reserved for your child only and you are paying for the psychologist’s reserved time.
